Set on the green foothills of Mt. Kenya 4km from Timau Town, Kirimara Woodlands is a haven to behold. At 2,700 meters above sea level, the property enjoys an unobstructed view of Mt. Kenya and on a clear day, all three peaks are visible. The breathtaking scenery is accompanied by clean, crisp, and fresh air.

While at Kirimara, you can enjoy a leisurely walk, a jog, or biking in the forest surrounding the house, where you will come across various birds and wildlife such as hares, squirrels, impalas, and colobus monkeys. Within the forest is a beautiful waterfall where you can enjoy the sound of the waters cascading from Mt. Kenya. The property also boasts a beautiful lush garden suitable for camping or relaxation where you can spend time away. Your stay at Kirimara will be completed by sumptuous meals prepared by our most experienced chefs. Tea is available throughout the day for maximum relaxation. From Kirimara Woodlands, you can visit Mt. Kenya Wildlife Sanctuary, hike Mt. Kenya, enjoy an adventure or a hike at Ngare Ndare, visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy and many other interesting places.
The facility has 10 rooms which can easily accommodate 10 couples or 20 singles. The facility is currently available at a friendly rate of between KShs. 20,000 and Kshs. 50,000 per couple per night on full board, depending on the room category. Kirimara Woodlands is ideal for making memories on special events such as honeymoons, weddings or birthday parties, and also suits retreats, seminars, family gatherings, or team-building events. The grounds can host up to 500 guests.
There was once a clubhouse from the 1940s where the facility stands, and adjacent to it was a manager’s quarters complete with a bathroom equipped with a bathtub and flushing toilet. Such luxury from before the 1940s! Other activities that happened around included sheep rearing, horse rearing, and snake rearing to collect venom.

The current owner initially considered renovating the club house and converting it into a home but the cost of modernizing it was too exorbitant. Abandoning the initial idea, the owner elected to demolish the structure and build again from scratch, and so was Kirimara Woodlands born.
